Class: So not Basic! (TEENS)

A class to cover the fundamental basics in good and creative performing singer practices. From grounding the body to a sense of aliveness in the material, we will discuss and demonstrate some active principals to keep you on your feet and looking great as you journey on your road to becoming the performing artist you dream of!

Class: Substitutiary Locomotion (ADULTS)

A class all about giving life to things without! We will study some basic energy principles of the human body and look at how you can turn what you naturally are into the character, song or performance you wish it to be, all with grounded technique and some good old theater magic

VOX BOX: a class about healthy vocal technique + production; basic singing musician practices working in n collaboration with a pianist. Including: Setting tempos, understanding sheet music and keys.

 

From Scratch: a step by step class on how to approach any piece of music. Starting with Basic sheet music practice, lyric interpretation, character development, and basic requirements for a successful performance.

 

Be A Musial Detective: a class dedicated to understanding and interpreting the score of any given piece of music. From tempo, dynamics, lyrics and melody you will learn what to look for as clues to performance building.

 

I Object-ive! A class dedicated to understanding the basic layers of good performance work. With Objective, given circumstances and imaginary circumstances at the forefront you will discover how to craft a dynamic vessel for each song you approach.

 

Body Electric: a class that demonstrates gesture through text and music, especially awareness and energy activation so that the body is activelyengaged throughout the singing process

 

Improv for Singers: basic technique and guidance through improv survival so that you will always land on your feet when you are stuck having to ‘act’ on the spot

 

Out of Context: a class that offers views and approaches to taking a song from the original context and replacing it with something more personal, viable and believable for the singer.

 

Song Excavation: The signature approach to looking at song from all and many angles, suited to the individual students needs and skill set.
